(KOR/ENG NEWS) 이란, '마약범죄 마을' 성인 남성 전원 처형

 

중국에 이어 세계 2위의 사형 집행국가라는 비난을 받는 이란에서 한 마을 성인 남성 전원이 지난해 마약 관련 죄목으로 처형된 사실이 뒤늦게 알려졌다.

지난해 7월 국제앰네스티(AI)는 이란 당국이 6개월간의 처형 선풍 속에 약 700명을 처형했다고 밝혔다.

이 같은 처형 규모는 2014년 한해 집행된 전체 처형 건수와 비슷한 수준이다. 포린폴리시(FP)에 따르면 샤힌도흐트 몰라베르디 이란 여성 및 가족 담당 부통령은 지난주 이란 반관영 메흐르 통신과의 인터뷰를 통해 이 가운데 대부분은 남부에 위치한 시스탄-발루치스탄 주(州)의 한 마을에서 이뤄졌다고 처음 공개했다.

According to Foreign Policy(FP), Iranian Vice President in charge of women and family first unveiled that most of these took place in a village located in the southern Sistan-Baluchistan in an interview last week with the Iranian semi-official Mehr News Agency.

 

그는 이 마을이 어디인지, 정확히 몇 명이 처형됐는지, 처형이 한꺼번에 이뤄졌는지 또는 시차를 두고 단계적으로 집행됐는지 등은 구체적으로 밝히지 않았으나 이란 당국이 남부 지역의 마약 밀매 문제를 제대로 다루지 못하고 있는 대표적 사례라고 지적했다.

몰라베르디 부통령은 이어 이 같은 처형으로 가장을 잃은 가족들을 부양할 필요가 있다며 이들을 돌보지 않으면 결국 마약 밀매에 종사할 수밖에 없고 결국 동일한 운명을 맞이할 것이라고 우려했다. 그는 특히 아동들이 잠재적 마약 밀매자라면서 보복과 가족 부양을 위한 돈벌이에 나설 것이라고 덧붙였다.

파키스탄 및 아프가니스탄과 접한 시스탄-발루치스탄 주는 이란에서 가장 낙후한 지역 가운데 하나로 아프가니스탄으로부터 마약(아편)의 주요 밀매 통로가 되고 있다. 지난 10년간 이들 지역의 마약 밀매를 단속하던 이란 경찰 4천여 명이 살해됐다.

AI는 이란이 작년 1∼11월 830건의 사형을 집행, 구체적인 수치가 정확히 알려지지 않은 중국에 이어 세계 2위의 사형 집행국으로 조사됐다고 밝힌 바 있다.

He added that expicially children are junker potentially and make money for retaliation and family support. Sistan-Baluchistan facing with Pakistan and Afghanistan is one of the most underdeveloped in Iran, it has become a major passage for drug(opium) trafficking from Afghanistan. Over the past decade, Iranian police were killed more than 4,000 people who cracked down on the drug trafficking in this region. AI said that in January to November last year, Iran executed 830 cases of the death penalty and after China that specific numbers is not knows precisely, Iran was investigated by the Bureau of execution the world's second largest.
