(KOR/ENG NEWS) 올림픽 예선 참가 북한 여자축구팀 일본 입국

 

북한 여자 축구팀이 25일 오후 일본 오사카(大阪)에서 열리는 올림픽 예선 참가를 위해 간사이(關西)공항을 통해 입국했다고 교도통신이 전했다.

일본 정부는 북한의 핵실험 및 장거리 로켓(미사일) 발사에 따라 독자적인 대북제재 조치로 북한 국적자의 입국을 원칙적으로 금지하고 있지만, 올림픽 경기 참가라는 점을 고려해 '예외'로 입국을 허용했다. 앞서 주중 일본대사관은 지난 24일 축구선수와 감독 등 총 30명에게 일본 입국 사증(비자)을 발급했다.

교도통신에 따르면 북한 여자 축구팀은 이날 낮 12시 20분께 빨간 코트에 배낭을 맨 차림으로 간사이공항 도착 게이트를 통해 입국했다.

선수들의 주변에는 검은 양복 차림의 남자들의 모습도 보였다. 이들은 일반인들과는 별도 창구에서 입국심사를 받았다고 교도통신은 전했다.

또 이날 공항에서는 북한 전통 복장을 한 오사카 조선고급학교 여학생들이 선수들에게 꽃다발을 전달하고 박수를 치는 모습도 보였다.

재일본조선인총련합회(조선총련) 오사카본부 강현 통일부장은 "북한과 일본이 결승에 올라 나란히 올림픽에 나가면 좋겠다"며 "지금은 북일관계가 나쁘지만 스포츠를 통해 개선되는 계기가 됐으면 좋겠다"고 말했다.

아시아축구연맹(AFC)에 배정된 리우 올림픽 여자축구 본선 티켓은 단 2장이며, 한국 여자축구는 지금까지 한번도 올림픽 본선 진출을 하지 못했다.

한국(FIFA 랭킹 18위)은 이번 대회에서 일본(4위), 북한(6위), 호주(9위), 중국(17위), 베트남(29위) 등 5개국과 풀리그를 치른다.

South Korea(FIFA ranking 18th) will play the game with five countries in the tournament: Japanese(4th), North Korea(6th), Australia(9th), China(17th), Vietnam(29th).
