'리듬체조 요정' 손연재(22·연세대)가 올 시즌 첫 국제대회인 모스크바 그랑프리 후프에서 은메달을 땄다.

손연재는 21일(한국시간) 러시아 모스크바의 드루즈바 스포츠콤플렉스에서 열린 '2016 모스크바 그랑프리' 마지막 날, 종목별 결선 후프 종목에서 18.283점을 얻어 2위에 올랐다. 금메달은 18.500점을 받은 알렉산드라 솔다토바(러시아)에게 돌아갔다.

후프 종목별 결선에서 첫번째 연기자로 나선 손연재는 소피 마르소 주연의 프랑스 영화 팡팡 OST 중 '왈츠(Valse)'에 맞춰 연기를 펼쳤고 예선(5위·18.066점) 때보다 0.217점 높은 점수를 받았다. 전날 개인종합 경기에서 4종목 모두 18점대를 찍으며 합계 72.964점으로 솔다토바(74.066점)에 이어 은메달을 목에 걸었던 손연재는 대회 두번째 은메달을 획득했다. 손연재는 이어지는 볼, 곤봉, 리본에서 추가 메달에 도전한다.
